Dog Sledding
First things first: "Mush!" comes from the French Canadian "March!" meaning "Walk!" And no, real sled dog drivers dont use the word. Instead, they use such commands as "Gee!" (Right) "Haw!" (Left) "Hike!" or the more prosaic "All right!" But you have ample opportunity to learn all this in Jackson Hole, home to some of the strongest, most experienced sled drivers (and dogs) in the world. Here you can take a lap around the valley floor, embark on a full days journey to a hot springs pool, or even enjoy an overnight trip to a yurt (a backcountry hut). You can even learn to drive the dogs yourself. Several companies offer one-hour, half-day, full-day and even overnight trips. "Hike!"
